Today I bring to you a Mame Review of Marvel Superheroes VS Street Fighter. This game is the second in the VS series. It was released in 1997 on the Capcom Play System 2 Hardware (CPS2). What we see here is the japanese version featuring exclusive character Norimaro. Enjoy.

Norimaro also does that hearts around his head thing when you fight against Sakura as well. Just incase you didn’t know or didn’t try it.

He is only available in the japanese version of the game. No unlocking needed.
You’re right about the SF charaters looking more like the X-Men/Marvel characters - they used the models from the SF Alpha series, another CPS2 series, this makes them fit a little better.. In later games like the ‘CAPCOM VS SNK’ the characters are from different makers and different periods and can look a little odd together.. Morrigan for example has ALWAYS had the same model which looks really lame in later games

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Dreamcast Version is playable on NullDC if you search for it on google its easy enough to find.
The only reason the game would not work on mame is if you do not have the proper rom sets.

Capcom USA has the problem of being a “decent company”, in Capcom VS SNK 2 they removed the homo on Eagle and make Rugal ultimate (not a god).

you could tag in hero battle mode for psx but i believe “i could be wrong” you could only use the same character twice the psx version kinda blew <.< had very limited memory so it was a greatly watered down port
I’m glad that weird guy isn’t in the American version. He’s stupid and his sprite and look doesn’t even match the other fighters in the game. Completely ruins the image of the game.
I thought he was a pretty cool little bonus bue could see why he wasnt in the game since american games probably wouldnt get it.
MvSF was the worst of all the vs series cause it wasn’t crazy enough.They got rid of most of the really good characters (Mag, Storm, cammy, juggs, and a few others) the corner infinites, and just made the game bland in comparison to the other games. There just wasn’t enough to do. Mvc2 and Xvsf are the best by far for the series. It just feels like they saw what happend to MSH and Xvsf, and decided it would be more fair if you couldn’t do things too crazy. what they got was a boring game.
I’m still trying to get Street Fighter 4 on PS3. But Its really fun, also I got alot better the past few days
Its not much of a game review its just opionated, what (he) doesnt like about the game is what somebody else could like about the game. I like it beacuse at least you can use more then just Mag, Storm, and some other high tier character. it makes you switch teams this was better then XMvSF
as far as i know with an emulator you can do both character’s combination of buttons (wich is hard as fuck)this mesaje is a response to MHZNOMISSjust in case it doesnt appear where it should

They’re too hard to beat. I can’t beat any of the games in the VS. series. i only beaten this one and that was it.

Cps2 is an arcade system. Capcom Play System 2. The easiest way to get it is through emulation since purchasing original cps2 hardware can be quite costly.
can you tell me a reliable site where i can get this cps2? and can i use xbox 360 controllers or any other console controllers? and do you need the disc in order to play?
on the styles, you’re pretty wrong, sorry. The version i know of it is, (most of) the Capcom characters are from Street Fighter Alpha, and the marvel heroes look like characters from Alpha for coherency.
I own the arcade hardware of all the vs titles, even MVC2. BTW MVC3 is officially in the works.

@byronblaze Yeah I own a lot of arcade hardware, konami, midway, capcom, sega, snk, its a hobby. Now I don’t own a cabinet for every game as I just change them out of the one astro city I own when I want to play another.

@R2000boy King of Fighters is made by SNK. If such a game is going to be made they will probably announce it at e3 on June 15th, but I have not heard anything about such a game.

Mame is garbage for these games. Saturn all the way baby arcade perfect. Xmen vs Street was alot more than just Cammy. Even without cammy the game is still very worth it. What a sorry ass review xDD
@R2000boy There is going to be a street fighter x tekken and a tekken x street fighter. One being developed by capcom on the street fighter 4 engine whilst the other being developed by namco on the tekken engine. Maybe that’t what he was talking about.
@jfachris it’d be cool but street fighter moves more faster than tekken… and how would my Hwoarang dodge a Hadouken? The heck? And how would Jin Kazama fight Ryu if he is a lot of more faster than Jin??? THIS IS GONNA BE EPIC!!!
@R2000boy tekken characters will fit just fine in street fighter. But street fighter in tekken is kinda hard to put my head around. I’m sure namco will do just fine.

oh by the way… you suck at mvsf man, you cant do combos, and launch combos, so you cant play it right

(Sighs) man, will I miss the good ol’ days, wastin’ half a year’s worth of quarters at arcade cabinets to play classics such as this, DK Jr., and Marvel Vs. Capcom… emulations and ports just aren’t the same as the real thing.

@Yareare Not everyone plays the same way. In MvC2, I’m known for staying grounded and picking someone to pieces. Tatsunoko vs Capcom’s rating system labels people like me as “Ice Players”. Everyone has different styles, his is just not conventional/typical.

@jfachris from what I recall there was a button combination that allowed you to switch fighters during the battle. But its been so many years, and now I’m starting to doubt myself.
@michelrpg in mvc it was a special mode but it was like mirror mode. The game could only handle two different characters at a time. So you pick chun li i pick war machine then i’ll have chun li as my back up and vise versa….kinda lame.
@jfachris Yes, Marvel vs capcom had that issue, but Marvel vs street fighter (I think) didn’t have the issue. But again: I could be off.

@latintiger I havent played it so I can not say for sure but one of the faqs on gamefaqs for playstation lists his moves so I think most likely.
