there is 6 Terabytes of games, Considering that most Mame games dont take up more then 15 KiloBytes of space, you do the math =)Also there are Differnt versions of alot of games, weather you wanted to play the Jap version of Street Fighter, UK Version, or US. I don’t nor will I ever find the time to play or use all of them on that machine it’s nice to know that if I get a request from a friend thats visiting, I can load it up.

Dude, Your system is bad ass. I am around your same age (40 in October) and arcade games are the best bit of nostalgia from my childhood. Dragons Lair is also my fav. I am looking into building a system that the wife wont divorce me over. How much did yours run? Its way over the top and hows the Plasma for viewing?

the CP cost 2k, Computer 2.5k, Plasma 1.6k. Being able to play what ever ya wanted priceless. You can get buy with a cheap CP for about 2 -300, any P4 or better, but I went alittle over the top and future proofed it a bit. I can even get the wife to jo9in me in a few games, she kicks my butt in Galaga. And its a great center piece for conversation. It’s the best hobby I have ever picked up.

Very cool. Your setup pushed me over the edge but I am going to do a 27″ monitor. Im going to have to tuck my cabinet in the last bit of manspace I have left in the house. I am going to to the Tankstick and then later upgrade to a custom 4 player deal after I have broken the wife in. Anyway, mad props. Your setup is awesome. I also saw the Hyperspin FE on your vid for the first time so I am going to use that. I appreciate the quick response.

Wow, I just started working on my frontend (Game-ex) getting all the stuff how I want it, thought I would check out some other peoples setups… Yours is absolutely 100% what I want to do but can’t afford… But I am building my cab from a 24′ 4:3 LCD Monitor, Alienware CP, and the tankstick, with 2 lcd topguns, I will be documenting this on my youtube page soon, Hope you check it out… P.S. You have the best setup I have ever seen. Are you related to bill gates?

Not related to Bill Gates, just a big kid, I look forward to your videos. If I can help you with anything please just ask, and thamks for all the comments. =)

Very cool. You should set up another vertical 50″ for Pinball emulation too.I like emulation, but I still own all the consoles as the later systems don’t emulate all that well yet. I would emulate a game before buying it again on say Virtual console or something.

Hey man. Very, very nice set-up. Was just wondering what games look like on your TV. Have heard a lot of people complain that newer TV pictures are to sharp to play older games on and actually make the games look worse, older TV’s are better cause they have a lower resolution. Just wondering because i was thinking of using a newer TV myself.

I think they look fine, and most Emulators have a built in Fuzzy/ Liner to get a more retor look. I personally think they look fine in HD.

Incredible set-up - can’t make out precisely the art you’re using for the control panel - it look like a reflective silver finish, though maybe that’s just the result of merky video resolution. Can you exp? Much appreciated!

no art work is on the Control Panel as of now.. saving up to put a 3D graphics on it, with a light shinning thur the bottom to make it pop out. Costs 1,300 just to print up.

I notice you have themes for Mame, but do you have themes for all “32 thousand” games? I’d like to see you enter other systems besides just mame. Thanks

  35. June 26, 2009 11:25 am
    EQDruid

The themes are created from hundreds of individuals that have a real passion for the system and the front end. I will update the video soon with more then just mame. But it will be years before every system, and every game has a theme. Lets face it, some games don’t deserve themes… While most do.

i have a question, i use mam32 emulator and have download some roms from diff websites after googled them. my question is when i play the games seems like the video quality is pretty low like video resolution is generally like 640×480 obviously since you have a plasma attached you must be playing the games a very high res. is that you emulator or is that the game itself ?

  55. November 28, 2009 11:30 pm
    EQDruid

the emulator Mame has a setting where you can stretch the quality. Also running the TV at 720P resolution.

    timetravel42

ok i will check the setting for stretching the picture quality, my tv isnt that nice so not going as high as 720p lol.. One other question do you happen to notice loss of quality the more you stretch it ..P.S … i agree you do have the badest system thats for sure

  58. November 29, 2009 04:49 pm
    EQDruid

It all depends on your setup… Differnt TV’s/screens. Differnt systems. ect. Its hard to say, All I can sudjest is to play with it, till it works for you.Good Luck =)
