Today I bring you the game that started it all Soul Edge/Blade. It was called Soul Edge in the arcade and japanese playstation and Soul Blade on Playstation in the usa. This game was the prequel to the Soul Calibur series and was a forgoten classic by many gamers. Here is my two part review and full playthrough of the game. I also show off some special stuff in part 2. Enjoy.
This video is Part 1 of 2.

dude i used to had them too, u have to get the “s11 player.dll” updated… actually i have all the weapon in psx version but the arcade version specially version 1 is the hardest!!
The narrator in the soul calibur games REALLY likes his job he’s really dramatic.
i completed this game when i was 10 lol i bet i probebly just spammed attacks im 20 now the memories
i feel you on that i miss this game
well I liked how you reviewed the game, but the part where you say that “characters speak the languages they should, rather than speaking japanese”, I mean while its a nice touch that not all characters speak japanese, they arent speaking the language they should be speaking(meaning that sophitia would have to speak greek, etc)
This is exactly why SCIV’s techicly SCV.
I totally agree with you there, its just like dynasty warriors 6 should be dynasty warriors 5. The original Dynasty Warriors game was just a fighting game that had nothing to do with the main series hence why in japan the word Shin was put before the new series.
Exactly or even like the GTA series, GTAIV should technicly be GTAVI cause of the 2 GTA Stories games. Although in some aspects NARC & River City Ransom were the first two GTA games.
You need to balance the volume between your voice and the gameplay. With my headphones, its sometimes impossible to hear what you say.
Wait, what the hell are you talking about?a) Arthur wasn’t in any version of Soul Blade. You’re thinking of Soul Calibur 1.b) How the hell can you confuse us with Korea? We have no problem with Samurai. Come on, why would Europeans historically have a problem with samurai? That makes no sense. Arthur was in the Korean version of Soul Calibur 1.
… which makes no sense because Soul Calibur was a complete overhaul of the series. It’s Soul Calibur IV.
The series started with Soul Blade (Edge) on the PS so technicly SC IV is SC V. Even if it’s an overhaul of the series.
Kinda like the real dynasty warriors 1 was really dynasty warriors 2. Hence the fact that in japan it had a shin in the title and no number. Dynasty Warriors was just a non series fighting game.
Exactly

The game is called Fighting Vipers. The original game was released on sega saturn and the sequel was released on dreamcast in europe and japan only.

A)Arthur was the localized version put into the euro version, ive seen him as an extra character in SC1 arcade, and ps2 SC3b)they were just generalized with ninja and violence, considering europe has its own violent history itself

The best game ever!!!! And the Rest of All SoulCalibur Game is a Dream :).
The PAL version of this game had some edits. As you stated in this video, Mitsurugi was replaced with Arthur. Li Long’s nunchak was replaced with a three section staff, similar to that of Billy Kane from Fatal Fury. In the opening sequence, Sophitia was given clothes, where as in the Japanese and American versions, she would be shown from the neck up without her clothes.
Oh wow thats really cool, I love differences in different region versions. Now I have to buy the pal version.
