Today’s mame review is done by request of Metroidfan10. This game is Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon on the Cave 1st Generation arcade hardware. This game is a Final Fight like beat’em up based on the Sailore Moon anime and manga. It was released in 1995 by Banpresto and developed by Gazelle. Enjoy

Good Review, yes names and scenes in Sailor Moon (Jap) to (Eng) were cencored and the cencoring was just rediculios, they cut a few japanese shows for violence and mature humor the people who traslate these shows in english are just being childish in my opinion, it wasn’t even rated for kids it was a teen show.
Cool,i remember sailor moon well when i used to watch it back in the 90s,it was really fun i lost touch with the more newer episodes at the end of the 90s,great review by the way!
Lol,the german name of Usagi is Bunny,which makes sense but since the most other names are the japanese ones I find it stupid,sigh,good old 90’s.
Great review gamemaster. MAME Sailor Moon is great. It’s getting remade by one of my friends, can’t wait to see how that turns out.

I played through this today, it was okay, final boss was a pain though.
2d fighting game and beat’em up bosses tend to be ultra cheap and a pain.

This game looks like fun. I used to be a Sailor Moon fan back when I was a kid lol, I’m a guy and I confess to liking Sailor Moon lol I’ve shamed myself ROFL. Anyway There where some great episodes up untill the last season, then it got old and redundant. Still good times ^-^.

Hehe, but I am a guy playing this game too. It’s really cool, I play this with my brother together. It’s almost a Beat’Them’Up game, you can collect crystals and perform super attacks. It’s still cool you should try it out.

Anyone knows other great beat them all like this where you can fight as a chick or something? No mugen please, only real games. My fav was the “bare knuckles” serie or the “final fight” serie.
if this game was released in the super nes back in the days, i’d have bought it all of mine moon dust money!! graphic seemed decent. i thought the only sailor game that was available was for the sega but this one is actually a decent looking game…the music though is a bit goofy. haha. that’s 90’s games for you!
I’m sure there was a version of this for the SNES….quite a few Sailor Moon games actually! Look under Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon…if I remember right they’re all listed under that name with different sub-titles after….even an english translation of one floating around on the web somewhere!
@deadpan666true There were sailor moon games for the snes that were kinda like this game, but they were much different games, some of them shared gameplay elements but there is no direct port of this game on any console.
Sorry to say your ramblings could not be more weeaboo. Nice review, though, for the most part. In the middle of it when you started talking about the characters names I found myself saying “Is this guy friggin’ serious? It’s Sailor Moon. Why would you complain about changes to Sailor Moon?”
@RainbowRandolf The reason I talk about name changes and censorship is I just hate when they have to over americanize stuff. Its like if a character had a japanese sounding name it would make kids bleed or something. When I am watching an anime I always like it when they keep it as true to the original as possible. Its not theirs to make their ownl
