Tutorial For MAME SFIII Third Strike:
If your having trouble reading the crappy format add “&fmt=18″ to the end of the URL for this video, it will put it in high quality.
DOWNLOAD THIS FILE:

Unzip it, it comes in 2 files, drag and drop those files without screwing around with them in your ROMs folder in MAME.
PLAY THE GAME.
When it tells you to rewrite the CD thingie make sure you have Key 1 enabled as a certain key in the game, than hit ok.
- First Part get the right Emulator.
You wanna get MAME 0.121 (the latest version released).
Download it from here:

(Copy this and paste it into your browser than select ‘Save As’ or ‘Save To Disk’ or whatever you use to save.)
* After that Extract this downloaded file to your desktop.
* Create a folder called ‘MAME 0.121′ and put all files extracted folders there.
* Put the folder wherever, I leave mine on the Desktop or whatever.
- Second Part getting SFiii 3rd Strike.

* Write Number than Download it….
* The file is 63.12 mb….so go take a potty break or something…..
* Move the file into your MAME folder and than into your ROM folder from there…
- Third Part getting the CHD file for SFiii 3rd Strike.
This is where you can get the CHD file for SFIII 3rd Strike:

* Click Download Now
* Move The File Into Your MAME folder and than into your ROM folder.
* Make a folder called ’sfiii3′ and than put this file into that folder.
- Fourth Part is to get the BIOS for SFIII 3rd Strike.
PS - Apparently Romnations servers went overboard or whatever because they took the download down. SO I just uploaded the small file on Filefront.com for ya guys ;]

* Click Download Now!
* Download it and move it into your ROM folder.
- Fifth Part is mounting the BIOS file on your ROM.
Probably the second hardest part after finding all these files.
* YOU MUST HAVE WINRAR or some type of Extracting Program, pererferably WINRAR.

* Open sfiii3.zip with WinRAR
* Open sf33rdstike_missing_file.zip with WinRAR
* Drag and drop sf33usa.bin into sfiii3.zip
* YOu can go ahead now and delete the sf33rdstrike_missing_file.zip BTW.
Ok your pretty much done….
The last step is to run it, it will write a CD for you this takes aprrox. 30 - 45 min.
Just uhhhhh go uh jack off or something….
Notices
- It takes a while to ‘Initialize’
- Type OK when it says that Legal Stuff.
- Type OK when it says there are problems.
- The game kind of takes a bit of RAM so I recommend not running multiple programs while running it.
(It’ll probably slow it down…)

Seems like a horribly unnecassary way of getting something to run instead of just running Windows and make life easier… but that’s just like Mac users… even though they know everything is a pain in the ass they stick with it instead of making things alot easier and more effective.

ya its weird i tried that and i got all the files (including chd) but it said that the game couldnt be played and it still needed the chd

actually im not taking any “medicine” the only things pcs are good at are coding and gaming (which so far seem to be your only arguments), everything other than that a mac can do better

Are you serious? Linux is an operating system for a PC. PC means personal computer. And no Linux is not all that great very difficult to use unless you know what you are doing. Now if you use say Ubuntu it will make running Linux much easier because it puts Linux in a “Windows” style environment. But even then it’s still way more work than say on OSX or XP.
Well… to be honest you can say that about anything… for example… Assembler is not a hard language to program in, as long as you know what you’re doing.Seriously… how many people want to learn millions of command phrases just to be able to fix their sound drivers if the sounds stops working for some odd reason?.That tend to happen alot in Ubuntu and well… basically any other linux distros out there.

no i dont think its compatible with the sf4 arcade sticks dude…and ive been trying myself to get it to run on mame so i can play it online…i can play it fine on nebula but its not online

CHD File link is broken anyone know where to get it?
First, go to romnation, and get SF IIInext, you’re gonna have to google “SF III CHD file” and “SFIII bios”I’ve ran into that “bios” thing quite a bit; from 1998 onward, all games with a ridiculously high pixel count, or a high polygon count need a bios thing to run it.Romnation has the game itself but it won’t run without the CHD and Bios files which you’re gonna have to google. You open the CHD and bios folders, and transfer those files to the SF III folder, that’s what I did.
Oh it works; I have street fighter III on my computer but again, the romnation data on SF III won’t work without the CHD and bios file. The contents of the winrar CHD file, and the bios one, go into the SF III folder, you then have a long waiting period before the game installs itself into your computer. Its well worth it though; the graphics are pretty close from what I remember. Again; get the bios and chd folders, extract the contents, and then put them in the SFIII one.
to anyone for whom the links don’t work; hey guys sorry, I myself downloaded this 7 months ago. This is what you need to download, as they are not always bundled;1) SF III third strike, the game itself.2) The SF III third strike Bios file3) The SF III third strike CHD fileExtract the files from 2 and 3, and put them in the winrar folder for number 1, when you run it on mame it should work. However I googled and the files are tough to find.

Is playing sf3 on fba any different than using mame 32?
i have following problem, i cant find any servers with mame on kaillera. “done. 0 servers found.” with ggpo, however, i find servers. how can i fix this? any ideas?
@stardingo747 Hey dude, one question, by saying “…transfer those files to the SF III folder, that’s what I did. ” do you mean putting all this .zip files INSIDE the sfiii3.zip file? or an ACTUAL folder called SF III?
The street fighter III file does not come in a single neatly packaged winrar folder, at least not anymore. You need to download two rar folders, namely the rom itself, and the CHD file which gets the rom to work on the MAME. You open both folders, and you take the contents of the CHD rar folder, and place them in the rom folder of SF III. Once the SF III folder has the CHD in it, the MAME should be able to run it provided you have version .127
my bad; I meant, MAME version 1.27good luck dude; you’re gonna need it. MAME will work, but its a pain in the ass to set up and get running, you will have to do a lot of key poking and mouse clicking. If you’re smart though you’ll figure it out.

Luckily enough some files were still running on my computer for some reason and I didn’t get to delete the Roms and stuff…so I guess I’ll try again.Basically, I was using a MAME version called: MAME32++ 0.117 (Jul 12 2007)I guess that explains it though. Becuase when I was running it there it said it was missing both the CHD (which I had) and a file which ended in .u2 …. So I don’t know what’s left know…where can I get MAME 1.27?
Just google “MAME” and go to the official site, then look for any “past versions” or whatever theyr’e called. If I were you I would try to google the files the poster of this vid mentions in the video description, and then put all of them in the SF III rar folder. Obviously the links he posted won’t work, so you will have to hunt them yourself. I don’t have that .u2 file, and it runs just fine. Again though, you need MAME version 1.27
MAME is a pain in the ass to use man, its part of why my arcade classics game collection is so limited. You need like 20 separate versions of MAME, to play games of different eras, its messed up. MAME’s problem, is how vastly different arcade boards were ranging from the 70’s to now. You look at an arcade board from the 90’s, and its chip and memory set is vastly different from one from the early 80’s, so coding a MAME that will run them both is a nightmare.
