This is a short video tutorial of how to get Killer Instinct (kinst) Arcade using Mame32.
I KNOW! IT’S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I MADE THIS VIDEO. WEBSITES HAVE CHANGED AND THE LINK FOR THE CHD FILE DOESN’T WORK ANYMORE; HOWEVER, THERE ARE THE LINKS BELOW THAT YOU CAN STILL USE AND GET THE CHD FILE.
100% PERCENT SURE THAT YOU’LL BE PLAYING AFTER DOING ALL THE STEPS MENTIONED ON THE VIDEO.

Helloz again, do u know a site to get ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 CHD by any chance?
You don’t need a Chd file for UMK. Just download the rom and Neo-geo bios and that’s it. You can look under mame all the games that need chd files by cliking the CHD tab on mame. :=)

Maybe u can help me with some info:Which one is the current version of mame32?I use windows and when I download the source code of mame (not mame32) from the official page, i don t know what to do, there are no .exe file, so how can i use it?because i know that the ones that works with windows are mame32 and mame plus….

yo! i got a mac book pro and a windows vista and windows xp.i need help gettin to work on my mac, i got the Kinst2.chd file and shit, but mame tells me im missing all the files when i have all of them.any help???
You’re just missing a step! Recheck the kisnt files and run it again.”Kinst” folder needs to have the kinst.chd file in it.”kinst.zip” Just as is, you dont need to do anything else with it. Place those files in the “roms” folderRun mame (audit files if needed) and let me know if it worked.
Hey bro great tutorial, although I got a problemHow the hell do i setup the buttons for my logitech pc controller? I go to options and it just says button 1, button2, button 3….etc.I have tried to play around and get a sense of what button is which but i just made a bigger mess and my buttons don’t correlate to their functions. If you have time plz reply and tell me how you overcame this step. Thanks!
You have to go to “default game options” on Mame, then click on “Controllers” Ckeck on “enable joystick input” Once that is checked, just run the game and press “tab” on your Keyboard to bring up the options, then select “Input this game” and make the chances you want to.

okay i got the mame the CHD file and i UNZIppED the kis ROM i have everything and when i go and play the game it says…. CHD FILE STILL MISSING and its frustrating because i have every file EVEN the CHD FILE and it still says im missing it what should i fo ???
The Rom should NOT be unzipped. “Kinst” folder needs to have the kinst.chd file in it.”kinst.zip” Just as is, you dont need to do anything else with it.Place those files in the “roms” folder and run Mame again.;)

Hey thanks for replying. Sorry but where is this ‘default game options’ on mame? If i press tab at the beginning it says configure general input, when i press tab during game it says input (general) and input ( this game). Either one i go to, it is very confusing because it doesn’t say what button is corresponded with ones my controller. Anyhow I dont see “controllers’ and ‘enable joystick input” like u’ve mentioned. What am i doing wrong or did i miss something? Thanks man
