Me showing how I hack a gamepad or joystick for use with mame type applications. Having found no info on the net other than keyboards and control boards, I’m adding this for you.

what gamepad are you using? I’m trying to find a suitable pad, will a logitech dual action work? I found one for $15.I wanna make a USB arcade control panel with Sanwa buttons.
Lol, yeah Actualy that’s what I’m using.. it’s the blue one.. looks like a ps2 controler…It doesn’t matter what one you use.. aslong as it’s usb..
Yeah I’m also trying to get a Logitech Dual Action to work on my MAME it doesn’t seem to respond…But it works with other emulators for some reason..
Lol you have to enable joystick input in mame.. by default it’s off..
How do I do that?
It’s in the options, You can find tutorials online if you search yahoo.. search for: enabeling joystick mame
Awesome, I’ve read tutorials on this but it’s better to have a visual guide. I’m thinking of doing this to some third party PS2 controllers with a USB adapter… since the cheapo USB game pad I have doesn’t respond with MAME… But good work~
Can someone know how to enabled Logitech Dual Action & USB Joysticks Please because i don’t know how to enabled it?So if you Peaples know those stuff anyway, can you tell me Please because i don’t know how to work MAME to Contact with USB Crotroller shit??

That I’m not sure, I used 2 USB joysticks in mine, not the one in this video ether.. I went to thrift stores and found the 2 I’m using for $6 each..
Try and get a flight stick, they have more buttons and have actual buttons in the controler, this makes it MUCH easyer to hack..
I wouldn’t use old joysticks with ps/2 connection, but if you must, before you take it apart hook it up to your copm and play mame with it to test it..

Two wires on one switch, is one the ground. Do you do this on all of them, seems easier than the daisy chain method.

Where can I get those blue crimps that connects to the wire and then to the microswitch ?

You can get them at any hardware store, Or even dollar stores. I get mine in bulk from the electronic store..
Be sure to watch the newer video, It’s much better quality.

I do. It is easier, But uses more wire.
Some controlers have issues when you daisy chain the ground. This also solves that problem.
