TV in MAME Arcade

Video card for sale, the same used in this setup. Auction ends Sep. 11th at 2pm at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300149384519&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=020

I had a 17″ monitor and that was just not enough. So, I put an old 20″ TV in there (need RF modulator and a video card that has “S” video on it), and what a difference! The TV really brings the retro look into the classic games. Also, with the older 3D graphic games, the sprite edges aren’t pixelated, but smooth because the games was designed to be viewed by a TV monitor.

I like it. There are several different themes you can download and choose from to compliment your arcade’s style. Good amount of support too.

I tried hooking up an old tv using the RF modulator and it looked like shit. so i just ended up getting a tv that already had s video built in it.

go to newegg (.) com but keep in mind, not all video cards support it. VGA to RCA get low ratings because people don’t realize that only a handful of cards will work. I suggest picking up a cheap video card with TV out from ebay. I got one for around $10 including shipping and it works great for all my emulators. Actually building a MAME cabinet now for my 27″ TV using that card with an older PC.

Use a video card that has s-video.
