This is a lame video of me attempting to play Guitar Freaks on MAME. You need the correct CHD and ROM files to play Guitar Freaks on your PC. I have almost all CHD files for mame.

I have a file in my guitar freaks rom folder..886ea.chd(almost 590MB)but Mame won’t even display it…what am I missing to make it work????
You need both the rom and the CHD files.

I tried to play this game last year and the game was too slow (maybe because of emulation was not soo good) How do you played this game in normal speed?
download DTX Mania or buy the latest PS2 version of GF instead
if you have a ps2 (playstation 2, that is) to PC plug thingy and know how to configure the buttons for MAME, then yes, it is possible to have it work.

Uh.. probably because this is a real game whereas frets on fire is a shitty Guitar Hero simulator. Let’s not forget that Guitar Freaks and Guitar Hero work in different ways..
This game sucks man.. Don’t get me wrong, I mean Frets on Fire is a big piece of shit too, but this game is just REALLY bad. If you really think that this is better than FoF.. Than I don’t know man lol.. there’s something wrong with you.. JUST GET A GUITAR HERO GAME OR ROCK BAND GOD DAMMIT!

Guitar Hero and Rock band were made for rhythmically deprived fucks who suck at everything else that involves rhythm. This game was made to test your accuracy and actually challenge your timing skills. If you were to actually try any of these games created by Konami of JP then you’d be crying at how difficult it is for your sorry GH/RB fangirl ass. And yes, all GH/RB games get boring fast. I had more fun playing Guitar Freaks SECOND mix than I ever did with GH.

And instead of making a stupid scratching noise that real guitars don’t even make, it plays the wrong notes instead.

dude guitar hero and rock bands expert modes are nothing compared to drummania and guitarfreaks. mad blast on BASIC yes i mean BASIC is harder than most expert songs in gh and rb.

dude harmonix created guitar hero tho and quite frankly guitar hero sucks compaired to rockband or guitar freaks and drumainia . hell for all the dumbasses that think guitar hero was first just think konami baiscly created the music and rythm genre.
